We hope you all had a great time over the Holidays.  BayVAN was busy getting ready to launch the 2012 Artist Registry.  Curating the Registry is no easy task, we had to look through hundreds of submissions and make some hard choices in order to keep the Registry to a manageable number. 

We are excited to be working with so many talented Bay Area artists.

Join us to celebrate the season and the award winning images of night photographer John Vias at DOMAIN Gallery curated by BayVAN. 

Enjoy festive seasonal libations and fabulous bites catered by Cafe 15.

John Vias wanders around in the dark taking pictures. His award-winning night photography has been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in galleries and other art venues throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.

This is an opportunity to show the richness of artistic production within Berkeley. Approximately 30 artists will be selected through an open juried competition. Artwork selected will be exhibited in the Berkeley Martin Luther King Civic Center Building, 2180 Milvia Street, distributed throughout public areas on five floors. Selected artworks will be displayed for approximately one year, through the middle of 2013. Purchase Prize of up to $3,000.

BayVAN is proud to invite you to our latest Nomadic Curatorial project at the new Colonnade Gallery at DOMAIN by Alta in downtown Oakland.

This solo exhibit by Jeffrey Hantman features his latest body of mixed media works on beautifully curved wood structures formed from found and salvaged wood. Through the combination of photography, appropriated images and screen-printing, Jeffrey creates ephemeral images that suggest faded memories of a distant past.
